Pocket Forests.
We don’t just plant trees, we grow communities.

Nature means the world to us

We help communities improve urban spaces by growing pockets of native trees and shrubs. Together we create thriving soil, love of nature, wildlife habitat and climate resilience.

A Pocket Forest is our own method of opening spaces for nature in towns and cities around Ireland. We repurpose waste materials to feed the soil life and help people create and care for their Pocket Forests.

What We Do

Our Pillars

Community Growing

Pocket Forests are designed to re-enchant communities with each other and the natural world

Environmental Integrity

We minimise single use plastic, source from organic nurseries and support other nature-based enterprises. We use electric bikes and an electric car to keep emissions low

Planting Irish Grown Native Saplings

These provide greater food and shelter for our birds, insects and mammals and eliminate the risk of disease from imported plants.

Regenerating soil by repurposing waste materials

Cardboard, composted food waste, coffee grinds and other organic waste that might otherwise end up in landfill brings more life to soil in our projects.

Scientific research has proven the health benefits of rebuilding our connections to the natural world. Pocket Forests help people create more natural spaces in their neighbourhoods, teaching us about soil life, reigniting our love of nature and creating the healing potential of native wildlife habitat.

Pocket Forests help communities come together, get to know each other, engage in positive action for the planet and learn while doing. The projects have a ripple effect to help people feel they can use nature-friendly methods in their own gardens and take on stewardship of shared public spaces.

Nature Reconnection

Nature is not only nice to have, but it’s a have-to-have for physical health and cognitive functioning.
